The Information Communication Technology (ICT) sector in Kingston ranges from healthcare to defense, cloud computing, communications, and software development. Queen's University, RMCC, and St. Lawrence College all participate and offer research partnerships.

Kingston is home to Canada's largest army base, CFB Kingston, which houses the defence department's national centre for military intelligence. Queen's University, the Royal Military College of Canada (RMCC), and the Canadian Forces School of Communications and Electronics conduct leading-edge research sharing the common element of information communications technologies.
