Jeff Garrah, Chief Executive OfficerThe Kingston Economic Development Corporation (KEDCO) is committed to the key issue of long-term economic sustainability for the City of Kingston.  

As a Corporation, our collective success is based on the pursuit of business development opportunities and the resulting economic impact on our community - business growth and retention, job creation, labour force enhancement and sustained quality of life for all citizens.

The Corporation's activities are focused on achieving the vision to of "making Kingston a vital, dynamic and sustainable economic centre".   This vision for the future is based on:

  • Taking pride as a community that we have invested responsibly in infrastructure improvements.  We don't simply advocate development for the sake of development.  
     
  • Recognition as a Canadian leader in research and development with partnerships and advancements made at Innovation Park at Queen's University being a driving factor.  
     
  • Kingston's centre of excellence in Canada for bio-economy and green technology advancements in research, development and manufacturing.  
     
  • Continued investment in our culture and our heritage to maintain the city's authenticity and foster pride in our rich past.  We have a vibrant arts sector and one that brings attention to our community on a national and global stage.  
     
  • KEDCO's role as a key service provider for local companies as a result of our flexibility to respond to their changing needs and the economy. 

Today and tomorrow, through our dedicated Board of Directors, staff, strategic partnerships and an engaged community, we plan to obtain this shared vision.  The quality and impact of the services KEDCO offers will help Kingston differentiate itself from other communities as the premier place to visit, to live and work and to do business.
