2015/2016 Kingston EcDev Review Committee

In response to the recent interest expressed in Kingston's economic development effort, Kingston EcDev will strike a Review Committee to provide an opportunity for the organization to look at itself and ensure Kingston EcDev is delivering services that are of value to the community and aligned with City of Kingston Strategic Priorities.

The Committee will provide a review of Kingston EcDev's governance and operations and offer a recommendation to the EcDev Board and City Council on how to best position Kingston's economy for future generations.  This review will address organizational structure and capabilities to undertake, promote and fund economic development activities and Key Performance Indicators to gauge community and organizational success.

The Review Committee shall:

  • Develop and oversee public consultation activities to solicit feedback through online mechanisms, public meetings, delegations, industry specific meetings and such
  • Conduct a transparent review of Kingston EcDev in comparison with other EDOs
  • Offer recommendations for implementation to the Kingston EcDev Board and City Council

The Review Committee is comprised of: four members of the public, two EcDev Board members (plus CEO), two City Councillors (plus CAO) and a contracted external resource knowledgeable in EDO's to provide support to the Committee (not a voting Committee member).
